Born within

Darkness. A glimpse of light. Then the sun rises!

Short and sweet, our days are stuck on repeat.

The night might be longer, but the day will soon break.

We always know this for a fact, yet we still agonize. Going into each darkness, moody and aggressive — even to most who are not at fault. Our anger and frustrations pierce through every eye that glances at us with a warm smile. Why do this to the innocent? Why do this to ourselves?

The enemy is not your compatriot. The enemy is not your ever-demanding and underpaying job. The enemy is not your cruel boss. The enemy is not your undeserving wife or husband. The enemy is not the weather nor its creator in heaven. The ENEMY is the emotion — your bad emotion. It’s conceived within. Incubated in your thoughts, and born in your actions.

Yes, it’s not conceived by choice. However, our thoughts are within our control. We can choose to incubate bad or good in them. Choose wisely, because our actions and reactions are the fruits of our thoughts.
